liberatory Healing &

Commitment to Collective

Accountability Agreement

Purpose

This agreement is a shared commitment to co-creating a space of healing, accountability, and transformation. It is not a legally binding contract but a declaration of intent—an affirmation of our dedication to engaging in meaningful, equitable, and restorative therapeutic work.

As a Black Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I hold deep awareness of the historical and ongoing disparities in mental health access for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Choosing to work with a white client is a decision I make with care and integrity, ensuring that it aligns with my ability to sustain myself and continue serving my community. This relationship must be built on mutual understanding, a recognition of systemic realities, and an unwavering commitment to personal and collective healing.

Client’s Commitment to Anti-Racism & Collective Healing

By engaging in therapy with me, you affirm your commitment to confronting and dismantling racism—within yourself, your relationships, and the broader world. You recognize that systemic oppression has deeply impacted BIPOC communities and that this space must be held with respect, accountability, and a willingness to grow.

This work is not peripheral to your healing—it is central to it. Our exploration of privilege, bias, and systemic harm will not be a detached intellectual exercise but an embodied, heart-centered, and transformative process. We will move with honesty and courage, with compassion and challenge, knowing that liberation is both an internal and external pursuit.

Therapist’s Capacity & Boundaries

As we engage in this work, I will honor my own nervous system, my lived experiences, and the wisdom of my body. My ability to show up fully for BIPOC communities requires me to maintain balance and integrity in my practice. If at any point I determine that this therapeutic relationship is compromising my well-being or my ability to serve my community, I will communicate that with clarity and care.

This is not an act of exclusion—it is an act of preservation and intentionality. Should this occur, I will ensure that you receive appropriate referrals to continue your healing journey in alignment with your needs.

Therapeutic Approach & Areas of Exploration

Our sessions will hold space for deep reflection, challenge, and meaningful shifts. Together, we will examine:

  • YOUR AWARENESS OF SYSTEMIC RACISM AND HOW IT MANIFESTS WITHIN AND AROUND YOU.

  • THE WAYS POWER, PRIVILEGE, AND OPPRESSION SHAPE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS AND WORLDVIEW.

  • THE CONNECTION BETWEEN YOUR HEALING AND YOUR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN DISMANTLING HARM.

  • HOW YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM RESPONDS TO DISCOMFORT, TRUTH-TELLING, AND ACCOUNTABILITY.

  • THE ALIGNMENT BETWEEN YOUR PERSONAL GROWTH AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE COLLECTIVE.

This space will be both compassionate and courageous—a container for radical self-inquiry, embodied awareness, and intentional action. Unlearning and transformation require discomfort, and we will meet that discomfort with presence, integrity, and care.

Moving Forward

This agreement is not static; it is alive, just as our work together will be. As we deepen in this process, we will revisit and refine our commitments with mindfulness and transparency. Our shared goal is not perfection but engaged, sustained participation in healing and justice.

By stepping into this therapeutic relationship, you affirm your commitment to growth—not only for yourself but as a part of a larger movement toward equity, liberation, and collective care.

Acknowledgment & Agreement

By signing this agreement, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the expectations outlined in this document. You recognize the depth of this work and commit to showing up with intention, responsibility, and an open heart.
