group offerings 〰️
i currently offer two groups.
please take a few moments to read over the group descriptions to identify which group best aligns with your identity.
quick note: if you are not a current client of mine or have not engaged in either group offering within the past 6 months, you will complete a brief assessment where you will be asked about your identity, current engagement in therapy, and share any current/ongoing safety concerns to determine whether you will be best supported in either therapeutic group setting.
unapologetically melanated
-
this group offers a nurturing, affirming space for visibly melanated individuals to gather and heal together. Here, we honor the resilience it takes to navigate daily life in a melanated body and hold space for the ways systemic and interpersonal trauma can show up. You'll be surrounded by a community that truly understands-folks who have walked similar paths and can witness your experiences without judgment. Through ongoing sessions, we'll uplift one another by acknowledging our hurts, celebrating our strengths, and encouraging honest emotional expression. Together, we'll rebuild a sense of shared humanity, reclaim joy, and engage in collective healing that honors our stories and our spirit.

You may be a good fit for Unapologetically Melanated if you are often perceived as Black, Brown, Indigenous, or otherwise non-white, and regularly navigate the world through experiences of racial marginalization, colorism, or being “othered.” This space is designed for those who move through life with visible melanation and are seeking a supportive, shared space to reflect, heal, and connect around these lived realities.
This space may not be the best fit if you are primarily seeking a general or race-neutral support group, or if your lived experience has not included being consistently racialized or marginalized based on visible identity.

navigating belonging: mixed heritage
-
This group offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals with mixed heritage to come together, share their experiences, and find healing. As a visibly melanated facilitator, I am committed to creating a trauma-informed space that respects and honors the unique journeys of each participant. I recognize that navigating multiple cultural identities can bring about feelings of confusion, isolation, and uncertainty. Here, we will prioritize your emotional safety and well-being, allowing you to express your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. You will connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and understanding. Through our ongoing sessions, we will acknowledge the complexities and challenges of your path while celebrating the strength and resilience that comes from your diverse backgrounds. Together, we will cultivate a sense of belonging, reclaim our narratives, and engage in collective healing that honors each individual’s story and experience.
-
You may be a good fit for Navigating Belonging: Mixed Heritage if your racial identity is often experienced as ambiguous, mixed, misunderstood, or context-dependent, and you frequently find yourself navigating questions of belonging, proximity, or in-betweenness. This space is designed for those who move through the world with shifting or unclear racial perception and are seeking a supportive environment to explore identity, accountability, and shared understanding.
This space may not be the best fit if you feel firmly located within a single, consistently recognized racial identity and are primarily seeking a space centered on experiences of visible racial marginalization.
